NIC-IX participants should arrange the hotel reservation on their own. A list of hotels in the CERN area (both in Switzerland and in France) is provided by the CERN housing service here. For participation in events taking place at CERN, some hotels offer a special rate (marked with "S.P." in the list). Reservations should be made mentioning the participation in a meeting at CERN. Please contact the NIC-IX secretariat if a proof of your participation is requested.

In Switzerland
We have block booked 40 rooms for 135 CHF per night (breakfast and taxes included).
The price quoted is the same for double and single rooms.
These rooms will be held at this special Conference rate until the 1st June 2006.
A free Airport shuttle is available on request.
The bus stop for the public bus number 9, which goes to CERN, is just a short walk from the hotel.
We have block booked 30 rooms for 145 CHF per night. For breakfast and taxes add 27 CHF.
The price quoted is the same for double and single rooms.
These rooms will be held at this special Conference rate until the 1st June 2006.
A free Airport shuttle is available on request.

In France
We have block booked 20 rooms for 81 EUR per night for a standard room or 96 EUR for a deluxe room.
Breakfast is an additional 13.50 euros.
The price quoted is the same for double and single rooms.
These rooms will be held at this special Conference rate until the 10th May 2006.

This hotel would suit those participants who will have their own transport.
4, Campanile Hotel, Ferney-Voltaire
We have block booked 10 rooms for 70 EUR per night. Breakfast is an additional 8 euros.
The price quoted is the same for double and single rooms.
These rooms will be held until the 1st June 2006.
You will need to take a taxi from the airport to the hotel.
There is a 10 min walk to the public bus stop and local amenities.
This hotel would suit those participants who will have their own transport.

When telephoning mention the NIC-9 conference.
We have block booked 20 large apartments for 86 EUR per night.
and 10 small studio apartments with a sofa bed.
There is a cleaning charge at the end of your stay of 37 euros.
A minimum stay of 4 days is necessary to secure this price.
These apartments are equipped with a basic kitchen.
La Reserve is close to local amenities and restaurants.
You will need to take a taxi from the airport to the hotel.
There is the F line bus which stops outside the hotel. This goes to the centre of Geneva.
This hotel would suit those participants who will have their own transport.
These rooms will be held until the 10th May 2006.
We have block booked 20 rooms. Prices differ for each room. These prices include breakfast and tax.
Single room for 45.20 EUR per night, double room for 51.90 EUR per night, triple room for 58.60 EUR per night.
These rates are increased by approximately 2 EUR per night during the weekend.
These rooms will be held until the 1st June 2006.
This hotel is approximately 15 minutes walk from CERN and local amenities. More suitable for students.

N.B.: we would advise that people using French hotels should have their own means of transportation.
The five hotels listed above have been contacted however you are free to find your own accommodation. Once again, you will find a list of hotels using this link.
A limited number of participants can be accommodated in the CERN
hostels. In order to be included in the list for this type of
accommodation, please specify the request in your registration form.
The deadline for submitting this request is, therefore, as for
registration, March 1, 2006.
However, please consider that some hotels in the area offer room rates
not much more expensive than the rates of the hostels.
